About The Raw Bar

Barbados Bob was on a diplomatic journey to the United States from his home in the Caribbean. His small ship sailed along idyllically on a beautiful moonlit night. Suddenly the sky darkened and the ship was unexpectedly caught in a squall. Barbados Bob was swept off the top deck by a mighty wave into the sea. All through the night, his faithful crew searched for him to no avail. Little did they know the Barbados Bob had been rescued by a Mermaid and brought to the shores of Cape Cod. As she dropped him off safely on the shore she whispered in his ear, “You shall open a Raw Bar and sell the freshest seafood in the land.”

The Raw Bar

Logo Design

The Raw Bar mermaid logo was established back in 1984 when the Raw Bar first opened its doors to the public.  Since then, the Raw Bar expanded and opened two new locations serving the famously giant lobster rolls that it gained its fame for.  The original Mermaid logo was taken and digitally converted to a vector form and then used to create two new logos similar in style but distinguishable by the scenery depicted in each one. Each scene represents the location of each restaurant, showing iconic buildings and featured elements that distinguish each restaurant.

Each logo was then taken and simplified to a text-only logo used primarily for stationary and envelope templates, invoice templates, gift certificates, letterheads, merchandise and more.

The Mermaid Logo was then taken and simplified and modified for print use and later used for clothing.
